Music, movement and play for little ones in Teignmouth

Every Little One Shines

“Come and dance, sing and play with us. Your little one can jump straight in, stay close to you or watch until they’re ready. There’s room for all of it at MK Stars.”

Hello, and welcome

MK Stars is a small, friendly class for toddlers and early years children in Teignmouth, with a parent or carer alongside them the whole time.

We use lively music that little ones already know, simple actions, singing, dancing, imaginative play and movement games. The routine stays familiar from week to week, so children soon know what’s coming next.

Some children join in from the first song. Some watch from your lap for a few weeks and then surprise you. Some dip in and out when something catches their eye. All of that is fine. There’s no expectation to speak, sing, copy an action or perform.

We keep groups small (no more than 10 children) so there’s space to move and time to get comfortable.

Especially welcome

MK Stars is for all children. We’ve shaped it with families in mind whose little ones communicate differently, need time to warm up, or find busy groups a bit much.

A session at a glance

Every week follows the same shape. Annis adapts it to who’s in the room on the day.

1

Hello song

The same song every week, so your little one knows we’ve started.

2

Musical statues

Dance, then freeze with a prompt like “touch your knees” or “stand on one leg”.

3

The colour wheel

Spin our big wheel to pick a colour: yellow, red, pink, blue, green or orange.

4

A colour game

If it lands on yellow, we might toss yellow beanbags into a yellow hoop.

5

Move and pretend

Imaginative play and movement games to familiar, lively music.

6

Goodbye song

A calm finish, so everyone knows it’s time to go.

Hi, I’m Annis

I’ve taught baby ballet and toddler dance, and I’m a parent too. My daughter inspired MK Stars. Watching her, I saw how much easier it is for a child to join in when the music is familiar, they know what’s coming next, and nobody is rushing them.

That’s the class I wanted to make: lively and fun, but calm enough that every little one can shine in their own way.
