About Annis

Hello! I’m Annis Kelly, and I run MK Stars in Teignmouth.

My background

I’ve taught baby ballet and toddler dance, and I’ve spent a lot of hours in village halls with little ones, lively music and a bag of props. I love the moment a child who’s been watching from their grown-up’s lap suddenly stands up to join in with the song they know.

Why I started MK Stars

My daughter inspired MK Stars, and the name. As a parent, I’ve seen first-hand how much easier it is for a child to join in when the music is familiar, when they know what’s coming next, and when they’ve had time to get comfortable. I’ve also sat in sessions that were a bit too busy, a bit too loud, a bit too fast, and watched children (mine included) switch off.

So I wanted to make the class I was looking for: all the fun of music and movement, with a routine that stays the same from week to week, small groups, and no pressure on anyone to perform. A class where a child who wants to watch for three weeks is as welcome as the one who dances from the first minute.

Who it’s for

MK Stars is for all toddlers and early years children, with a parent or carer alongside them. I’ve shaped it with families in mind whose little ones communicate differently, need time to warm up, or find busy groups overwhelming. If that sounds like your family, I’d love to meet you.

I describe what we actually do in class, and I don’t make promises about what it will do for your child. What I can promise is a warm welcome, a familiar routine, and a lot of fun.

See you at the hello song,
Annis
